Our task for this project was to totally renovate the full property and install a new single storey rear extension with sun room, utility and downstairs toilet.
Having worked with this client on two previous occasions, our client wanted to explore creating a modern house from a past unloved council house.
Therefore, we started with a blank piece of paper, the only item that was to be kept was the external walls and the cladding to the front wall.
Our architect designed the layout to incorporate the sun room and redesign the walls to the first floor to allow wardrobes and to create an office.
As you can see from the images, the house was totally stripped back and we were responsible to deliver the project to the client.
New electrical and heating systems were installed, it was fully plastered, with a new kitchen and bathroom. I am sure that you would agree the best place in the house for use was the sun room with the roof lantern – simply stunning.
The roof cover had asbestos, so we had to remove that into special skips and then install the new roof.
Outside we installed K-Render to cover the new extension and installed the large block paving.
All this work was overseen by the local Building Control.
