Rising Damp in older buildings is fairly common.
Despite being strong built walls unfortunately most were constructed without damp proof course in place.
Modern methods of damp proofing just didn’t exist as they do now.
Because of this older properties are more susceptible to penetrating damp, rising damp and condensation problems.
The complications of damp are ones such as rotting joists, poor health, the destruction of clothes and furniture items. The best thing to do if you are unsure is to contact a surveyor. They will be able to diagnose the problem .
